Production[edit | edit source]

The film was made around the same time as Karakattakkaran (1989).[3] Gangai Amaran felt that he had put a lot of effort into making Annanukku Jai unlike he did in Karakattakkaran.; however, while the latter film was successful, the former was not.[4]

Soundtrack[edit | edit source]

Soundtrack was composed by Ilaiyaraaja.[5][6] The song "Enakkoru Magan Pirappan" is set to Mohanam raga.[7]
