A case was registered against Khan under section 506 of IPC at the Jamia Nagar Police station in South Delhi. Delhi Police on 24 July 2016 arrested Khan.[8] On 28 July 2016 Khan got bail, the court asked Khan to furnish a personal bond of 50,000 Indian Rupees and a surety of same amount.[9]

On 18 April 2017, Khan alleged that Indian National Congress supporters were firing at him when members of the Congress and Aam Aami Party clashed with each other in the Jamia Nagar area ahead of local municipal elections.[10] On 28 January 2018, an FIR was filed against Khan for allegedly assaulting a social worker associated with the Congress in the aftermath of another confrontation between the two parties.[11] On 20 February 2018, a case also was filed by Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash against Khan and fellow legislator Prakash Jarwal for allegedly slapping and abusing him.[12]
