Crazy Colonel is a comedy television series in Kannada priduced by S S Rajesh and directed by Lingaraj which was telecast first on Bangalore Doordarshan in 1989.[2] It featured Ramesh Bhat and Girija Lokesh in the leading role and had Joythi, Rajaram, Dr B V Rajaram as the supporting cast. It also featured other stage actors like Vadiraj and Vishnuvardhan’s brother Ravi in several episodes. Ramesh Bhat plays a retired and eccentric Colonel who lives with his wife (Girija Lokesh) and Black Labrador named Caesar. Each episode showcases his escapades in trying to woo young girls by his charm and getting caught by his well aware wife.
The serial was followed up with another season 10 years later in 1999 but did not have the same popularity perhaps due to change in director and writers. However the serial Crazy Colonel has become a classic now with retelecast of the first season episodes on Chandana during the Covid season.
