Hungama 2 is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language comedy film directed by Priyadarshan and starring Paresh Rawal, Shilpa Shetty, Meezaan Jaffrey and Pranitha Subhash.[1] Produced by Venus Worldwide Entertainment, it is a spiritual successor of Priyadarshan's 2003 comedy Hungama.[2] Hungama 2 is currently in post-production and has been scheduled for theatrical release in mid-2021.[3]

Development

In November 2019, a confirmed source revealed that Priyadarshan has finalized to comeback in Bollywood with a spiritual successor of his 2003 comedy Hungama.[4] First look poster of Hungama 2 was unveiled in December 2019, for official announcement of it and introduction of the main cast.[5]

Filming

Principal photography begun on 8 January 2020 in Mumbai.[6] In March 2020, when the shoot was 60% complete, production came to a halt because of the COVID-19 lockdown ordered by Indian government owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.[7] Filming resumed in September 2020.[8] The shooting wrapped up on 1 February 2021, bringing it into post-production stage.[9]

Release

Initially slated for cinema opening in August 2020, Hungama 2 had been postponed due to its production delays and will now release in mid-2021.[10]
