Baakiyalakshmi is an Indian Tamil television soap opera airing on Star Vijay. It stars KS Suchitra. It was premiered on 27 July 2020. This show is an official remake of Bengali Serial Sreemoyee which airs on Star Jalsha. It is also available on Disney+ Hotstar.

Plot

Baakiyalakshmi and Gopinath are married and are settled in a joint-family setup. They have three children Chezhiyan, Ezhil and Iniya. Baakiyalakshmi is a soft-natured innocent woman, who loves and lives for her family. For her, her family is the world and she doesn’t know anything beyond that. Gopinath (Baakiyalakshmi's husband) is not fond of her and always humiliates her. He had been trying to settle with his ex-girlfriend Raadhika whom he wanted to marry years ago. Raadhika is already married and has a child, Mayuri. However, Raadhika divorced her husband. Gopinath finally meets Radhika and starts visiting her house often. Baakiya doesn’t know about her husband's crooked nature, even though he is the father of three. Raadhika doesn’t know about Gopinath’s family. She befriends Baakiya and shares a good bonding with her. Although Baakiya thinks that her family is her world, she soon realizes that she is left alone in her world. She decides to create an identity for herself. What is her next step when she comes to know about her husband’s behavior? Did she come out of the house and create an identity for herself? The answers for the rest of the story.
