Views[edit | edit source]

The Inquilab, (daily urdu newspaper) has reported Zangipuri as both Imam and Spokesperson.[4] Over the years, he has delivered religious addresses and participated in various Shia religious and community programmes in Mira Road and elsewhere.
In March 2025, Zangipuri spoke about issues relating to Quds Day, Palestine and Muslim unity.[20] In December 2025, Inquilab reported a "Seerat-un-Nabi and Ittehad-ul-Ummah conference" in Mira Road at which Zangipuri was also present, where he addressed the gathering on the role of individuals in strengthening the family system.[21] In 2021 report by Hamari Aawaz covered remarks Zangipuri made at a social-reform meeting in Mira Road.[22] Zangipuri has participated in a range of religious lectures, community meetings and public demonstrations. Archival recordings show him at events relating to Jannatul Baqi, Quds Day, the hijab controversy and the Waseem Rizvi controversy.[23][24][25] His public activities have also received coverage from outlets including Hawzah News and IQNA's Isfahan and Khorasan services[26][27][28] In 2021, Zangipuri publicly responded to the controversy surrounding Waseem Rizvi's proposed actions concerning the Quran, according to The Inquilab.[4] Hawzah News further reported that "Maulana Hasan Imam and other clerics issued a video statement calling Waseem Rizvi and his associates apostates and appealing for a social boycott".[29] Zangipuri further criticised Waseem, stating, “These are verses from the Quran, not documents of the Waqf Board.”[30] March 2022 report by The Inquilab on a meeting concerning the hijab also listed Zangipuri among the religious figures who attended the gathering.[31]
In 2017, Zangipuri was associated with a protest in Mira Road over statements made by journalist Rohit Sardana. Archival video footage shows him leading a protest rally and accompanying members of the Shia community to the Naya Nagar Police Station.[32][33] A later report by Veritas International Express described him as a senior Shia cleric and referred to him as the "Chief of Shias of Mira Road", the report said that he led members of the Shia community to Naya Nagar Police Station in connection with a complaint against Sardana.[34] Contemporary reporting by The Times of India independently documented that a police complaint had been filed in Mira Road concerning Sardana's remarks.[35][36]
