Jharkhand (Hindi: झारखंड, Urdu: جھارکھنڈ‎) is a state in the Republic of India. About 20,000,000 people live there. The state covers 28,833 square miles (74,680 km²). It is bigger than Sierra Leone but smaller than Panama. It has many villages and towns. Ranchi is the capital city. In traditional Indian geography it falls under the East Indian zone.
