Sun TV Network is an Indian Mass media company headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is a part of Sun Group and is one of Asia's largest TV networks.[2][3] Established on 14 April 1992 by Kalanithi maran, it owns a variety of television channels and radio stations in multiple languages. Its flagship channel is Sun TV, which was the first fully privately owned Tamil channel in India. Sun Group has owned Hyderabad-based IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad since 2012.[4][5]

SUN Group currently owns and operates 33 TV channels (25 SD + 8 HD) across Indian languages – Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali, Marathi.[6]

Sun18
Viacom 18 has 50% dealing distribution with Sun TV Network which led them to make Sun18. By this they made a strong distribution identity. By this Sun TV Network was responsible for South Indian market and Viacom18 was responsible for North Indian market.
But it was came to an end within few years, now Sun TV Network distributing their channels as their own Companies and Viacom18 distributing their channels with a single company named IndiaCast Media Distribution Private Limited. ( Mainly this was not a content sharing deal, on this same years Raj TV, Polimer TV and MAA TV have bought the rights of serials dubbed in Tamil and Telugu which they made in commissioned method. But Sun TV and also bought some rights of some serials to dubb in their regional markets before)
Film production
Sun Pictures is a film production and distribution company established in 2000 it is a Part of Sun TV Network. It produced the TV film Siragugal and Rajnikanth starrer Endhiran. It has distributed more than 20 Tamil films starting from Kadhalil Vizhunthen, and now Producing many big budget movies.[7][8]
Television Production Company
Sun Entertainment is Television production Company, which Produces small budget movies for Sun TV Direct TV Premier, after movie released in TV it will available only on Sun NXT OTT App, also Co-producing all upcoming webseries in Sun NXT OTT Platform which are coming soon in 2022 mid and also Co-producing the Serials which are showing in their TV Channels
OTT Platform
Sun NXT is a global online audio/video streaming platform owned and operated by Sun TV Network. Has more than 4000 movie titles including movies like Ajith Kumar's Mankatha, Vijay's Sarkar and Rajinikanth's Petta. Sun TV network is planning to invest more it's ott platform Sun NXT by making original web series and original ott movies from the mid of the 2021 .[8]
