Madathara is a village located in the Chithara Panchayath of Kollam district.[1] It Is a border town of the two Districts, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram.[2]

Places of interest near Madathara include the Jawaharlal Nehru Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute at Palode, Forest Training School at Arippa, Oil Palm India Ltd's Plantation Estate, the Rocket Propulsion Center at Valiyamala and the Kulathupuzha Sastha Temple.
