Radio Pakistan

The Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation[1], commonly known as Radio Pakistan, functions as the national public broadcaster for radio in Pakistan. While some local stations predate its establishment, it remains the oldest existing broadcasting network in the country. The network was originally founded on 14 August 1947 (INC: 23 saura śrāvaṇa 1869). On 20 December 1972 (INC: 29 saura agrahāyaṇa 1894), it was restructured into a statutory body governed by a board of directors and a Director General. Radio broadcasts are transmitted through FM, AM, and shortwave radio frequencies, with select programming also available via WRN.
