Kaligiri
Kaligiri is a town in Nellore district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh it is the mandal headquarters of Kaligiri Mandal.[1]

History
Nellore district formed part of the composite Madras State till 1st October, 1953. On 1st November 1956 when the states were reorganized on a linguistic basis, this district came under the Andhra Pradesh State.[2]
In 1970 Prakasam district was formed from parts of Guntur, Kurnool, and Nellore districts.[3]
Tirupati District formed from a part of old Chittoor district and a part from old Nellore district on 4th April, 2022.[4]
The name of Nellore district has been changed as Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore District on 4th June, 2008. [2]
Transport
There is a bus station in Kaligiri near the Sangam Road, Kavali Road and Udayagiri Road intersection. There is also a bus stand in R&B Banglow Bee Said, Kaligiri. From there, Other Depot buses go to Nellore, Kavali, Kanigiri, Pamur, Atmakuru(N), Udayagiri, Vijayawada, Kadapa, Others State Buses Hyderabad MGBS, Banglore, Channai,and other destinations. Railway line, Nadikudi-Srikalahasthi is passing (under construction) through the town.and well connected by road

Demographics
As of 2011[update] Census of India, the town had a population of 30,250. The total population constitute, 15,200 males, 15,050 females and 2,348 children, in the age group of 0–6 years. The average literacy rate stands at 80.31% with 13,294 literates, higher than the national average of 73.00%.[5]
