Dutta was raised in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, in a Bengali Hindu family.[3] She attended Loyola School Media Studies in Mumbai. Her elder sister, Tanushree Dutta, is also a model and actress, and won the Femina Miss India title in 2004.[4]

Dutta met actor Vatsal Sheth on the sets of their show Rishton Ka Saudagar - Baazigar in 2016.[5] Dutta married Sheth on 28 November 2017 in Mumbai.[6][7] In March 2023, the couple announced their pregnancy and had a baby boy on 19 July 2023. The couple had a baby girl on June 10, 2025.[8][9]
