History
Chittoor district was initially formed in 1911. At the time of Indian independence in 1947, Chittoor district was a part of the erstwhile Madras state. In the fifties Chittor district was a part of the newly formed Andhra Pradesh state and went through several changes. In 1985, the taluks of the district were reorganised.
