Atmakur is a town in the Nandyal district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a municipality located in Atmakur mandal.[2]

In 2022, Kurnool district was split into Kurnool and Nandyal districts.[3]

Atmakur (Assembly constituency) is an assembly constituency of Andhra Pradesh. Present M.L.A. Mekapati gowtham Reddy from YSRCP.

Education[edit]

The primary and secondary school education is imparted by government, aided and private schools, under the School Education Department of the state.[4][5] The medium of instruction followed by different schools are English, Telugu.
