Bapatla East (rural) is a village in Bapatla district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in Bapatla mandal of Bapatla revenue division.[2]
History[edit | edit source]
As per Gazettee No. 939, dated the 26 January 2022, the old Guntur district, formed in 1904, was split into Guntur district, Palnadu district and Bapatla district. 12 madals from Tenali revenue division and 13 mandals from Prakasam district was merged into the newly formed Bapatla district.[4]
Geography[edit | edit source]
Bapatla East is situated to the east of the mandal headquarters, Bapatla,[5] at 15°53′45″N 80°30′18″E / 15.8958°N 80.5049°E. It is spread over an area of 3,356 ha (8,290 acres).[2]
Governance[edit | edit source]
Bapatla East gram panchayat is the local self-government of the village.[1] It is divided into wards and each ward is represented by a ward member.[6]
Education[edit | edit source]
As per the school information report for the academic year 2018–19, the village has a total of 24 schools. These include 8 Zilla/Mandal Parishad, 14 private and 2 other type of schools.[7]
