The [[Indian Railways]] has set up a Railway Station Development Corporation (RSDC) that is working to improve the major railway stations. In 1st phase RSDC has selected Begusarai and 04 other most important railway stations of ECR zone, including [[Muzaffarpur Junction|Muzaffarpur]],  Patna, Gaya. They will build and develop Restaurants, shopping areas and food plaza/courts etc. for commercial business and improving passenger amenities on these "World Class" Railway Stations.
