Mayana Zakia Khanam (born 1 January 1971) is an Indian politician from Andhra Pradesh. She has been elected in Andhra Pradesh legislative election in 2019 from the Annamayya district as candidate of the YSR Congress Party. She is the current deputy chairman of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council.

Political career[edit]

In July 2020, Khanam was elected to the MLC from the Lawngtlai East constituency by Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan.[1] She was elected deputy speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council on 26 November 2021, becoming the first woman to do so.[2][3]

Personal life[edit]

Khanam was married to Mayana Afzal Ali Khan, and they had four children.[1]
