Veera Thirumagan is a 1962 Indian Tamil-language Ruritanian romance film, produced by AVM Productions, and directed by A. C. Tirulokchandar.[1] This was the directorial debut for Tirulokchandar. It stars C. L. Anandan, Sachu and E. V. Saroja, with music by Viswanathan–Ramamoorthy. The film was released in Telugu as Prajasakthi.

A. C. Tirulokchandar earlier wrote the screenplay for the hit film, Vijayapuri Veeran, an adaptation of The Three Musketeers. He was introduced by actor S.A. Asokan to AVM Saravanan, and became very close to the AVM clan, he made his directorial debut with Veerathirumagan.[3][4] Former child artist Sachu made her debut as lead actress with this film.[5] While AVM was generally known for producing drama films with contemporary settings, Veerathirumagan differed from them by being an "action oriented costume drama".[1]
Soundtrack[edit | edit source]
The music was composed by Viswanathan–Ramamoorthy.[6] Lyrics were by Kannadasan. Playback singers are T. M. Soundararajan, P. B. Sreenivas, M. S. Viswanathan, G. K. Venkatesh, Sadan, P. Leela, P. Susheela & L. R. Eswari.
The film is very popular for its songs, "Vethala Potta Pathini Ponnu", "Paadatha Paatellam" and "Roja Malarae" are very popular even today.
