Farnood Rumi[edit]
Farnood Rumi is a famous writer and an audacious journalist from Malegaon city. His full name is Farnood Rumi Osama Jalaluddin Qasmi. His father is a respected Islamic scholar.
He was born on July 25, 1992 in a village of Sohbaran in district Basti of UP. (But his year of birth is written in 1991 on the papers, that time the date of birth was written back one year for the purpose of early admission to school).
He was just a four-day-old baby when his parents migrated from UP to Mumbai, Maharashtra in 1992 for a better livelihood and better education for their children.
He was just nine months old at the time of the Mumbai bomb blast on March 12, 1993. His family also lived in Bhopal, Pabra (Raigarh) and Sholapur for a few days. After that, his family moved from Kalyan, Mumbai to Malegaon in 1996 and settled permanently.
He has three sisters and two brothers.
Farnood Rumi had his early education in Malegaon. He did his Junior Senior KG education from Primary School Biradar Bagh and studied in Islamia English Medium School, Nayapura in 1st and 2nd class. After that, he completed his third and fourth grade from S.M Khalil High School, Golden Nagar. Then he completed his education from fifth to twelfth standard at the famous and renowned school ATT High School and Junior College in Malegaon.
After completing your 12th from science stream, he went to Pune for higher education in 2007. There he cleared the entrance of CA course in the very first attempt, but then due to his interest in business, he left CA and pursued B.Com then completed MBA. He has Also worked as Accounts Executive in a company in Koregaon Park, Pune. Having an interest in business, he also started a cafe in Pune, which he ran successfully for a while. Later, when his father founded a semi-English school in Malegaon, he took charge of its management. He returned from Pune in the year 2019 with the spirit and purpose of providing good education to the children of his nation and serving the people by staying at Malegaon.
Farnood Rumi is an MBA as well as a civil engineer, freelance journalist, pen writer, social activist and English language coach. He is currently the director of his school, The Knowledge Semi English School.
He has completed several diploma courses and Masters in Business Management from Pune. From setting up his own business to working in various companies, he has had a good experience.

For five consecutive years, he has been associated with a well-known Pune-based NGO, Connecting NGO, for suicide prevention. He used to visit Sassoon and YCM hospitals for seeing burn victims, AIDS-affected people, handicapped and disabled people and also used to go to various underprivileged areas. He Worked continuously for the people living below poverty level.
Later, when he came back to Malegaon with the desire to do something for his city, in those days anti-NRC and CAA protests were going on. Within few days the outbreak spread and lockdown period began.
During the lockdown, he honestly presented the truth of the lockdown to the people through his channel Farnood Rumi . He also conducted blunt interviews with senior officers, corporation officers, police department and public representatives.
He has been one of the core members of the Malegaon Development Front organization in the past and was also the vice president for some time, but due to some ideological and personal differences, he separated from this organization.
He is currently pursuing his LLB along with teaching duties in his school and academy.
He founded Fanoos Academy and Studio in the beginning of 2023. It is located in front of Falah Ummat Trust, near Bakraidi Masjid. More than a thousand students have been trained in English language and grammar.
Farnood Rumi regularly writes articles on different social and political issues on his Facebook account.
He has more than 20 thousand followers on his YouTube account.
He is currently working on three books named as follows.
1. The English Grammar Tonic (draft ready)
2. Malegaon Lockdown Diary (under order)
3. Muslim Freedom Fighters of Maharashtra (under order)
Apart from local newspapers, his articles are published from time to time in Inqlab, Urdu Times, Rashtriya Sahara, Munsif (Hyderabad) etc.
He has also worked for Lokmat, a popular Marathi daily newspaper in Maharashtra for some time.
