Umerali Shihab AlHussainy Pookoya Thangal was an Islamic leader from Kerala, India.

He was the second son of Panakkad Pookkoya Thangal and younger brother of the Indian Union Muslim League former president, Pankkad Sayed Mohammedali Shihab Thangal.[citation needed]
Thangal was a judge in Wayanad, Kerala.[1] He was the chairman of the Kerala Waqf Board and president of the Sunni Yuvajana Sangham.[2]
He was the vice president of Samastha Kerala Jam'iyyathul Ulama.[citation needed] He was the president of Duraul Huda Islamic University from 1993 until his death.[citation needed] He also served as a Court member of Aligarh Muslim University.[citation needed]
Thangal died of cancer at Malappuram on 3 July 2008, aged 68.[3][4]
