Travancore Engineering College at Roaduvila, Kollam district was a self-financing college affiliated to the University of Kerala. The college was under the Travancore Education Society, Kallabalam. The college started in 2002 with three courses.[citation needed] In February 2017 the management of the college announced it was planning to shut it down due to financial problems.[1] Following students', parents' and teachers' complaints, in March 2017 the University of Kerala issued an order allowing students of the college to shift to other nearby self-financing colleges of their choice.[2] In 2018 it was reported that the college had voluntarily closed down and had not sought re-affiliation.[3] The college reopened under new management in 2019.The college is in 26 acres of land.
