Tilak Public School is a senior secondary school in Triveni Nagar, near Vishveswariya Nagar, Jaipur City Of Rajasthan State, India.

It was founded in 1995 with 20 students and 5 teachers. It is run by the Tilak Educational Society.[1]

Academics[edit]

The school runs classes from std. Nursery to XII. The school follows the NCERT/CBSE syllabus.

Pre-primary (Nursery, K.G. & Prep) : Emphasis is given on spoken English, cursive writing, Nursery rhymes, narration of stories, mathematical ability through educational aids, play materials, toys, visual and performing activities to make learning effective. There is music, games, and educational excursions.

Primary (Classes I to V) : The students start studying academic subjects consisting of languages, EVS, Maths, Moral Science, Yoga, Computers Skills, Music, Dance, Environmental Education, Art & Craft, Games/Sports, with participation in CCA.

Middle Section (classes VI to VIII) : Three languages i.e. English, Hindi and Sanskrit with Science, Maths, Social Science are the main six subjects of teaching besides other compulsory subjects like Arts, Games, Computer, Music and Dance, Environmental Education, G.K. and value education. The courses laid down by NCERT & CBSE books are used.

Secondary Section (classes IX and X) : The specialized teaching of two languages i.e. English & Hindi, Math, Science & Social Science are the main subjects along with SUPW (Music/Dance/Art/Craft), games, computer skills, Environmental Education.

Senior Secondary Section (classes XI & XII) :Science with Math, Science with Biology, Commerce with or without Math and Humanities stream with English as first main compulsory subject.

Optional subjects include Mathematics, Informatics Practices and Physical Education. Work Experience, General Studies, Health Education are offered as compulsory internally assessed subjects with other five main subjects.

Sport[edit]

The sports in which the school provides coaching are basketball, badminton, volleyball,Kabaddi and Kho-Kho.

Extra classes and remedial coaching are arranged during vacation for students of Std. X and XII. <<REF5>>

History and traditions[edit]

  • Annual days include Teacher's Day, Children's Day, Sports Day, and Independence Day.
  • Teacher's Day celebration is organised by students of class 11th and 12th.
  • Independence day is celebrated by a marchpast by the four houses of the school (Pratap, Laxmi Bai, Shivaji and Patel), with the house captains holding their house flags and leading the students. Then there are items such as showcase, and singing of patriotic songs by the choir group of the school.

Campus[edit]

The campus is located in the heart of the city of Jaipur. There are one basketball court in addition to indoor sports courts. There are three buildings: the Tilak Senior Secondary School building, the Tilak Teachers Training College building, and the Tilak Hostel For B.Ed Students building. The school has an auditorium for co-curricular activities.
