Tikri border gang rape
The Tikri border gang rape case involved a rape and assault that occurred on 10 April 2021 in Tikri Kalan, Delhi at the farmer's protest site. The incident took place when a 26-year-old woman from West Bengal was allegedly raped on the way to Delhi and after reaching the Tikri border to join the farmers' protest against the recently enacted agriculture laws. The victim later died due to Covid-19 on April 30 at a private hospital in Delhi.

The matter came to light after the father of the woman filed a complaint based on which an FIR was registered under sections 365, 342, 376-D, 506, 120-B of the Indian Penal Code. In his complaint, the father named six persons who went to West Bengal on behalf of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha. According to the details in the FIR, a delegation of farmers, including the accused, had held a public meeting in Hooghly, Bengal, on April 1. The victim had come in contact with them and she convinced her parents to allow her to go to a protest site in Delhi to support the farmers.[1]
On April 11, on the way to Punjab on train, accused Anil Malik, an AAP member in Delhi[2] tried to force himself upon her but she resisted and asked him to go away. On April 12, on reaching the Delhi border protest site, the victim was forced to share the tent with the accused as she was alone, the FIR stated. She told her father on the phone that the accused had not been decent with her and was trying to pressurise and blackmail her.[1] She later died due to Covid-19 on April 30 at a private hospital in Delhi.[3]

The Haryana police on May 9 booked six persons for gang rape and abduction. The accused, identified as Anil Malik, Anup Singh, an active member of the Aam Aadmi Party from the Hisar region,[2] Ankush Sangwan and Jagdish Brar along with two women, had pitched tents at the Tikri border under the banner of the Kisan Social Army and have been booked under sections 365, 342, 376-D, 506, 120-B of the Indian Penal Code.[4]
