The Great Indian Rescue, previously known as Capsule Gill,[1][2][3][4][5] is an Indian Hindi-language survival thriller film directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, of Rustom (2016) fame. It stars Akshay Kumar, Parineeti Chopra, Rajesh Sharma, Suniel Shetty, Ravi Kishan, Kumud Mishra, Virendra Saxena and Pavan Malhotra.[6][7][8][9][10][11][12] It is based on the Raniganj Coalfields collapse in West Bengal, in 1989, wherein 64 miners were trapped in the coal mines and how Jaswant Singh saved their lives by risking his own life.

It is scheduled to be released on 5 October 2023.[13]

The film is based on a mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill is an brave and honest and diligent mining engineer, and Amar Joshi is an brave and honest and diligent police inspector who rescued 64 miners at the Raniganj Coalfields in 1989.[14][15][16][17][18][19]
