Temple practices and Shakta Tanthric methods are of not more than 1500 years old. One of the original Ksheta Tanthri family - DELAMPADY - had an idol of Shiva) - not Shiva Linga - more than 2300 years old. Possibly the ritual used by the last person explicitly trained and did the rituals at Shabiramala (Tokkottu Dasanna Sannadkathaya, I do notknow the exact name - my great grandmother's uncle ) followed methods very different from those of the Keralean Namboothiris
