family tree template not working[edit source]

Family tree template isn't working in the article. @WikiDwarf @Bharatwiki Socrates Dokania😎(📩) 11:08, 25 October 2026 (IST)Reply

Fixed. The chart was rendering as an empty table because Template:Tree chart was blank and Module:Tree chart/data contained a duplicate of the main module, which caused a Lua stack overflow. Both have been restored, and the family tree in the article now displays correctly. 🍁Bharatwiki Socrates🍁(📩) 12:53, 25 October 2026 (IST)Reply
There are some mistakes and need for improvement in this family tree but the family tree template is too complex. Can you help me with it? Dokania😎(📩) 13:50, 25 October 2026 (IST)Reply
Explain the technical problem. 🍁Bharatwiki Socrates🍁(📩) 13:57, 25 October 2026 (IST)Reply
The wives of the three brothers, malyavan, sumali and mali are omitted from the family tree and their sons and daughters aren't named properly. Shurpanakha and her husband are also inclined towards vibhishan causing confusion. Dokania😎(📩) 16:40, 25 October 2026 (IST)Reply
Done. The tree has been rebuilt: the wives of the three brothers are now shown (Sundari with Malyavan, Ketumati with Sumali and Vasuda with Mali), and their sons and daughters are now named in full instead of counts, including all ten sons of Sumali and his daughters Raka, Puspotkata and Kumbhinasi next to Kaikasi. The spacing in the last generation has also been redone, so Shurpanakha and Vidyujjihva now stand in their own branch with Shambhukumara below them, clearly separated from Vibhishana's branch. 🍁Bharatwiki Socrates🍁(📩) 16:55, 25 October 2026 (IST)Reply
Some old corrections are reverted shambhukumara isn't real. Not trijata but kalaa is her daughter Dokania😎(📩) 17:17, 25 October 2026 (IST)Reply
Corrected. Shambhukumara has been removed from the tree, and Vibhishana's daughter is now shown as Kalaa instead of Trijata, matching the article text. Shurpanakha's branch now ends with her and Vidyujjihva, with no child box below them. 🍁Bharatwiki Socrates🍁(📩) 17:22, 25 October 2026 (IST)Reply
I have added some more names, can you include them. separate ravana sons by wives and correct the rendering of kumbhakarna and shurpanakha?
See here Dokania😎(📩) 19:02, 25 October 2026 (IST)Reply
Done. Ravana's sons are now separated by wives: Mandodari has her own box on one side of Ravana and Dhanyamalini on the other. Indrajit and Akshayakumara hang from Mandodari's branch, Atikaya from Dhanyamalini's, and Narantaka, Devantaka and Trishira are grouped as the other sons on their own branch below. The names you added are also in: Jambumali is noted in Sumali's children box as Prahasta's son, and the other descendants of Vishrava (Khara with Makaraksha, Dushana, Mattanika, Mahodara and Mahaparshva) have their own box in the same generation. Rendering fixed as well: Kumbhakarna's drop now meets the Kumbha-Nikumbha branch exactly at its junction, the stray line under Shurpanakha's connector is removed, and Kalaa's box is centred under Vibhishana's drop. 🍁Bharatwiki Socrates🍁(📩) 22:58, 25 October 2026 (IST)Reply
It is still not aligned perfectly, especially shurpanakhas. I think so of prahasta and khara should have their own separate box below. Also, I had generated this but it's also not very good
