Supergirl (2026 film) is a 2026 American English-language film.

It was directed by Craig Gillespie and produced by James Gunn, Peter Safran. The cast includes Milly Alcock, Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, David Corenswet, Jason Momoa.

Star cast[edit | edit source]

  • Milly Alcock has been cast in the role of Kara Zor-El / Supergirl, portraying the cousin of Superman who was raised on a fragment of the destroyed planet Krypton and witnessed the loss of everyone around her, resulting in a more jaded disposition compared to her cousin, who was raised on Earth by caring parents. Since Kryptonians derive healing and power from yellow suns, Supergirl enjoys visiting planets with red suns where she can experience intoxication effects. Producer James Gunn conceptualised Supergirl as a "pixie-ish, but very attitudinal character." Both Gunn and Gillespie characterized her as an antihero.
  • Matthias Schoenaerts has been cast as Krem of the Yellow Hills, leader of the Brigands—a collective of space pirates and human traffickers.
  • Eve Ridley will portray Ruthye Marye Knoll, a young girl who enlists Supergirl's assistance in her quest to avenge her father's death at Krem's hands.
  • David Krumholtz plays Zor-El, Supergirl's father and a scientist residing in the Kryptonian city of Argo.
  • Emily Beecham assumes the role of Alura In-Ze, Supergirl's mother.
  • David Corenswet has been cast as Kal-El / Clark Kent / Superman, Supergirl's cousin and another Kryptonian survivor who lives on Earth as a superhero. Gillespie described their relationship as sometimes exhibiting "this almost older-sibling dynamic and that can be adversarial," noting that while Superman is gentle and patient, Kara remains uncertain.
  • Jason Momoa will portray Lobo, an alien mercenary and bounty hunter originating from the utopian planet Czarnia. Momoa previously depicted Arthur Curry / Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) from 2016 to 2023.

Also appearing in the cast are Ferdinand Kingsley as Elias Knoll, Ruthye's father who was killed by Krem; Diarmaid Murtagh as Drom Baxton, the Brigands' second-in-command; and Supergirl's super-powered dog Krypto, who returns from the DC Universe (DCU) film Superman (2025).
