Sunil Kumar Malik (Hindi: सुनील कुमार, born 29 September 1999) in a Jat family of Malik-Gathwala gotra is an Indian wrestler.[1][2] He won a bronze medal in the men's Greco-Roman 87 kg event at the 2022 Asian Games.[3]

Early life and education[edit | edit source]

Sunil was born to Ashwini Kumar in 1999 in Dabarpur, in Haryana’s Sonipat district.

Sunil enrolled at the sports school in Nidani, Haryana, where he studied and practiced wrestling in order to further his career in wrestling.

His father, who was a farmer and passed away following a road accident in 2010.
