Uppaluri Subbbaraya Sarma is an Indian film character actor, and comedian known for his exclusive works in Telugu cinema, Telugu theatre, and Television.^[1]^[2] In a film career spanning more than forty years, Sarma played a variety of characters.^{[citation needed]}

In 1989 he received the Tri-Annual Best Actor for A Play Onteddu Bandi written by L. B. Sriram.^[3]^[4]^[5] Sarma is best known for his acting in works such as Srivariki Premalekha, Bava Bava Panneeru, Yamaleela, Mayalodu, Shubha Lagnam, Matrudevobhava, Gangotri, Magadheera, Top Hero, Dharma Chakram, Manasantha Nuvve, Baahubali: The Beginning, and Rudhramadevi.^[3]^[4]
