**Andor**, also known as *Star Wars: Andor* and *Andor: A Star Wars Story* for its second season, is an American science fiction television series created by Tony Gilroy for the streaming service Disney+. It is part of the Star Wars franchise and serves as a prequel to the film *Rogue One* (2016), which is itself a prequel to the original *Star Wars* film (1977). The series chronicles the journey of Cassian Andor, a thief turned rebel spy, over the five years leading up to the events of both films, highlighting his radicalization against the Galactic Empire and the formation of the broader Rebel Alliance.

Diego Luna reprises his role as Cassian Andor from *Rogue One* and also serves as an executive producer. The cast includes Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Stellan Skarsgård, Fiona Shaw, Genevieve O'Reilly, Denise Gough, Faye Marsay, Varada Sethu, Elizabeth Dulau, Ben Mendelsohn, and Benjamin Bratt. Lucasfilm announced the development of an Andor-focused series in November 2018, with Luna attached and Stephen Schiff initially hired as showrunner. Schiff was later replaced by Gilroy as creator and showrunner in April 2020. Filming occurred at Pinewood Studios in London and on location throughout the United Kingdom, with Neal Scanlan returning from *Rogue One* to provide practical effects. The first season, depicting Andor’s initial year as a revolutionary, was filmed from November 2020 to September 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. The second season, covering the subsequent four years leading up to *Rogue One*, was filmed from November 2022 to February 2024, facing interruptions due to the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes. The original score for the series was composed by Nicholas Britell.
