Sinha studied Physics for his | Sinha was born to Brindaban Sinha, a scion of the Kandi Raj family of Murshidabad, Bengal. He studied Physics for his BA (Honours) degree at Presidency College (now Presidency University), Kolkata from 1961-1964, graduating with high honors.
