Abbas Siddique: Difference between revisions

Siddiqui's video has been edited by infamous BJP it cell, which has been criticized for spreading misinformation and making hate speech specially against muslims. It has been infamous for its fake edited video making and disinformation campaign. BJP it cell shared a fake edited video where Abbas can be seen  calling for 'divine intervention' for the death of 50 crore Indians.<ref>{{cite web|accessdate=2021-03-03|title=Bombs, shotguns recovered from ISF worker's house in West Bengal.He was seen addressing a large gathering of followers and praying to Allah to kill 50 crore Indians with the virus, which was a fake edited and cropped video.  

On February 26, 2020, a video of Siddique had gone viral on social media in which he was heard referring to anti-musilm Delhi pogrom and saying: {{quote|Recently I have got the news that mosques are being set on fire, mosques are being burnt for the last two days. I think something is going to happen within a month. May Allah accept our prayers. May Allah send such a terrible virus to India that ten to twenty to fifty crore people die in India. Am I saying something wrong? It is absolutely blissful. That is also a fake, edited and cropped video taken out of contest , it was spread by BJP it cell. }} He also said that he did not mind whether he would die or survive but he would surely take Hindus with him. In 2019, after the Indian government passed the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Siddiqui opposed it as the citizenship law was unfair to the Muslim population of the country and threatened to block Kolkata airport if the law was not revoked. He urged Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to either move the Supreme Court or bring a resolution against CAA in State Assembly or else risk losing the support of Muslims in West Bengal.<ref name="OPIN" />

In February 2020, he claimed that the actor-turned politician Nusrat Jahan, earn money by showing body and called her "Shameless" for fooling voters using religious sentiments such as going to temples though she doesn't believe in Hinduism and Hindu Gods.
