He has been elected in Meghalaya Legislative Assembly election in 2018 from Nartiang constituency as candidate of National People's Party. He was Minister of Commerce & Industries, Community & Rural Development, Soil & Water Conservation, Transport in Conrad Sangma ministry from 2018.^[1]^[2]^[3]^[4]

He is a Niamtre Jaintia.
