Shruti Vora (1971) is an Indian equestrienne. She competed at the 2022 FEI World Championships (Equestrian Games) at Herning, Denmark and along with Anush Agarwalla became the first Indians to compete in an individual dressage event at the Dressage World Championships.[1] She was astride 16-year Indian-bred Denightron and scored 64.53%.[2] She qualified for the Worlds at Hagen in June 2022.[3] Vora represented India and finished 8th at the 2014 Asian Games at Incheon.
Shruti was born in Kolkata to Bimal and Nandini Nopany, a Marwari family.[4] Despite coming from a conservative family her mother used to ride horses and soon Shruti too started loving horses. Her brother Chandra Sekhar too rides horses. Vora took up the sport early at the Army Riding School, Ballygunge and learnt basics under Balbir Singh, a retired Army personnel, and honed her skills under Kiran Singh. But she took a 14-year break after marriage.[5] She married Mitul Vora in 1997 and has two sons Varun and Aryan.[6] In 2009, she returned to competitive sport again.[7] She relocated to Europe to train. In the later years she trained under Ahluwallia.
