Sayantani Guhathakurta is an Indian film and television actress who majorly works in Bengali films. She is known for her roles in Samantaral, Ek Je Chhilo Raja and Hoichoi Unlimited. She made her South-indian film debut with the 2019 Telugu language adult horror comedy film, Chikati Gadilo Chithakotudu. She has also worked in Bengali and Hindi television soaps.

Early lifeEdit
Sayantani Guhathakurta's family originally hails from Barisal in Bangladesh.[1] She was born in Kolkata on 3 November 1990.[2] She grew up in Kolkata, and lost her father while she was studying in the fifth grade. Aged five, she began learning dance.[citation needed] She has an M.A in Political science. She has studied fashion designing.[citation needed]
Guhathakurta is trained in the classical dance form of the Thankamani Kutty Gharana.[citation needed] She started her own dance troupe called the Aadrika.[citation needed][when?] She did various shows [which?] across the state and the country.[citation needed] Subsequently, she was offered modelling roles in Boutique and Jewelry TV ads and in Advertorial Billboards. Meanwhile, she also participated in a beauty contest [which?] where she was a runner-up.[3]

Sayantani made her acting debut in the 2013 Bengali movie Mahakash Kando, directed by Nitish Roy.[citation needed] She made her Bengali television serial debut with Kiranmala.[citation needed] She appeared in the Bengali soap Jamai Raja that was telecasted on Zee Bangla in 2017.[citation needed]
