Saram Jaffery (Urdu: صارم جعفري; born May 31, 1992 - Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan) is a Canadian actor and film director based in Toronto, Canada.
Career[edit]
Jaffery started his career at an early age in the 1990s participating in drama TV serials by Pakistan Television Network (PTV).[3] Jaffery moved to Toronto, Canada in 2007, and joined Humber College a few years later where he studied film making.[4]
In 2018, Jaffery appeared in Na Band Na Baraati as Bholu, a Pakistani romantic comedy film directed by Mehmood Akhtar and starring Mikaal Zulfiqar and Ali Kazmi.[5]
In 2020, Jaffery wrote and directed a 23-minute short film titled One Last Shot, the film released in the US on May 29, 2020 and released on Amazon Prime Video in the US and UK. The film earned Jaffery the award for Best Actor and won Best Duo at the 2020 New York Film Awards, and Best Drama and Best Narrative Short at the 2020 Los Angeles Film Awards.[6][7]
One Last Shot also won Best Canadian Short Film, the Viewers Choice Award at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival and the Best Romantic Drama in India at the Calcutta International Cult Film Festival as well as in Italy at the Oniros Film Awards,[8] and screened at the 2020 Vancouver International South Asian Film Festival.[9]
