At the Jagannath Ghat, he saw the Gangotri, the source of the Ganges, appear before him, and Har-Parvati, who resides in it, gave him darshan.[9] Lord Shankara then gave him a one-syllable seed mantra, and under the influence of chanting that mantra, he would become a Sadguru - with the assurance that they disappeared. Then the sight of the Gomukh Gangotri in the Himalayas also disappeared. He started chanting that seed mantra with great devotion. In search of Sadhguru, he visited various pilgrimages and eventually he arrived at Prayag Kumbh Mela with a friend. Here he had an interview with his future Gurudev Sri Kathiya Babaji Maharaj but he was doubtful whether he would take him seriously or not. Even after receiving initiation in this miraculous way, he took initiation as a woman in a natural way on the day of Janmashtami in 1894 in Vrindavan.[10]
