Prof. S. K. Gakhar is an Indian educational administrator. He is Vice-Chancellor of Indira Gandhi University, Rewari since April 2019.[3] He previously worked as Vice-Chancellor in Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani[4] (2014–17) and as a VC in Sri Sri University in 2019.[5] He has been distinguished invitees, Chief Guest,[6][7] Guest of honor in various universities, member of various committees in UGC and has organised many Seminar and Conferences. He is member of various statutory bodies of many Universities including Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University,[8] Shri Krishna AYUSH University, Kurukshetra, etc.[9][10]

Research[edit]

He is alumnus of Kurukshtra University[11] and did his M.Sc, Zoology (1978-1980) and PhD on Developmental Biology (1980-1984) from Kurukshetra University and Post Doc Visiting Scientist at University of California, Irvine, USA and also at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, NY, USA in 2004. He did his LL.B. from MDU (1995-1998). He also worked as Biotechnology National Associate (Post-Doc), Genetic Engineering from (1990-1991) at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He supervised 20 research scholars for their Ph.D degree.[12]

In 1985 he joined as a lecturer at Kurukshetra University and after serving there he shifted to Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak and in various Key positions in Maharshi Dayanand University as under:-
