Rivaba Jadeja (née Salonki) is an Indian politician belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party in the state of Gujarat and the member of Gujarat Legislative Assembly from Jamnagar North Assembly constituency. She contested 2022 Gujarat Legislative Assembly election and won from the Jamnagar North seat, beating Aam Aadmi Party's Karsan Karmur by a margin of more than 50,456 votes.

Early life[edit]

Jadeja was born on 2 September 1990 in Rajkot, Gujarat to Hardev Singh Solanki and Prafullaba Solanki. Her father is a businessman, and mother is a former employee of the Indian Railways.[1] She studied Mechanical Engineering from Atmiya Institute of Technology and Science.[2] She married Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja in 2016 and the couple has a daughter.[3]

Career[edit]

Jadeja started her career as a social worker in Gujarat, where she often advocated for the rights of women. She was appointed as the chief of the women's wing of Karni Sena, a right-wing organization of the Kshatriya community, in 2018.[4] In the same year, she began working as a party worker for the Bhartiya Janta Party in Gujarat. Jadeja was given the ticket to contest from Jamnagar North, which she won by a margin of around 50,456 votes.[5]
