Ratnavali Shaktipeeth is located in Khankul-Krishnagar on the banks of Ratnakar river in Hooghly district of West Bengal, India. It is locally known as Anandamayi Shaktipeeth.

Devi and Bhairava[edit]

According to Peethanirnaya, the goddess is worshiped here as 'Kumari' and "Bhairava Ghanteshar or Shiva". Bhairava is a few hands away from the goddess. Mahadeva is more important here.[1][2]

Myth[edit]

According to Hindu mythology Ratnabali Shakti Peeth is one of the 51 Shakti Peeths of Mother Sati. Lord Vishnu dismembered the body of mother Sati using Sudarshana Chakra to free Shiva from the grief of losing his wife Sati. The temple was built on the spot where Sati's body fell. The Dakshin Skandha (right shoulder) of the goddess fell here in the "Kavya Mimamansa" which mentions this Peetha.

Puja-Parvan[edit]

Here the mother is worshiped with sweets, fruits and food regularly. Many people come to Ghanteshar to take vows to cure tumors. Instead of bel leaves, the father is promised with coconut upachar. Durga Puja is performed here with great fervour. A fair is held here in Chaitra Ghazn.
