The Rajkiya Engineering College, Mainpuri or REC Mainpuri, is a government engineering college in Mainpuri. It is a constituent college of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (formerly Uttar Pradesh Technical University) of Lucknow. The Institute started its journey from HBTI now HBTU, Kanpur in 2015 and Studied 2 years in Kanpur, Its Temporary Campus Is in HBTU Kanpur, there is no stay arrangement for students now is running in its own fully residential campus. The Institute has its own campus with separate hostels for 3 boys and 1 girls. During its inception the institute was headed by the Director Of HBTI ( now HBTU ) who use to act as Principal of REC Mainpuri and REC Kannauj but all executive powers were in hands of Nodal Officer. The first and only Nodal Officer of REC Mainpuri was Dr. Pradeep Kumar who was also project officer of REC Mainpuri after the post of Nodal Officer and Principal was dissolved and every executive power came directly in the hands of Director.

The college has different hostels for boys and girls. Currently there is 1 hostel for girls with capacity of 180 students and 3 boys hostel with the capacity of 180 students in each but total number of students is 720. Each hostel is equipped with dining, electricity & water. There is a plan to set up generators to power up the hostels during power cuts(not done yet). Available of one cricket ground,football ground,2 volleyball ground and 2 badminton court. Also available of all indoors games.

Rajkiya Engineering College, Mainpuri currently 240 undergraduates through JEE MAIN conducted by NTA. Till this year college was admitting 12 students directly in B. Tech 2nd Year through lateral entry admission examinations conducted by NTA.

First Ever Batch(2K15) Civil Engineering Under Event Coordinator Mr.Archangel Singh B.Tech-(Civil) had Organised the First Ever FEST Of Government Engineering College (HBTI Campus) And Named it ABHINANDAN-15 at Auditorioum Of HBTU Kanpur on Dated 14/08/2016 and Later On it Becomes Yearly Welcome/Fresher Party.
ABHINANDAN'16 at RECM This fest was organized for welcoming the newly admitted students of REC Mainpuri. ABHINANDAN (Fresher's Party) and RECM Sports Meet(Annual Sports Meet) already have been organised for 2017-18 and there is more coming.
