Prajwal Devaraj (born 4 July 1987) is an Indian actor who mainly works in Kannada cinema.[2] He made his debut with the Kannada film Sixer (2007) for which he won the Best Debut actor award at the Suvarna Film Awards.[3] This was followed by the gangster drama Geleya (2007) which was a box-office success. Prajwal who is called Elvis Presley has been appreciated for his recent films like Chowka (2017), Gentleman (2020) and Inspector Vikram (2021) which were his biggest box-office hits. Prajwal has matured as an actor and known to play versatile roles. He was awarded the SIIMA Best Actor for Gentleman in 2020.

His major notable films include Meravanige (2008), Gulama (2009), Murali Meets Meera (2011), Super Shastri (2013) and Galaate (2013) and thus has established himself as one of the leading contemporary actors in Kannada cinema. He has many films lined up for release and one of the busiest actors with many films in the pipeline.

Early life[edit]

Prajwal is the son of a famous Kannada actor Devaraj who is popularly called as "Dynamic Hero" in the film circles. He has a younger brother, Pranam.[4] He has a close circle of friends consisting of his college classmates from Center for management studies. In 2015 married his childhood friend Ragini chandran who is model and classic dancer.

Prajwal completed his bachelor's degree course at Jain University[5] Center for Management Studies,[6] Bangalore. .
