Peepal Tree is 2021 Hindi, Marathi & English Drama (Environment) film.[1][2] written and directed by National Award winning filmmaker Kranti Kanade.[3] It deals with the issue of illegal tree cuttings in contemporary India.
Plot[edit]
When a Police Academy cuts Sacred Trees illegally, a concerned Family confronts them and approaches Police station for help only to learn it is non-cognizable offense without penal provision. They approach a Tree Activist who saves trees by all means. The community gathers under the tree at night to protect it but it is not that simple. Based on true events.
