Parliament of Bhutan [lower-alpha 1] is composed of the King of Bhutan and a bicameral legislature. This legislature includes an upper house known as the National Council and a lower house called the National Assembly. The current parliamentary structure was established in 2007, replacing the unicameral Tshogdu, with the first members assuming their positions in 2008.
