Nyburs is an Indian hyperlocal social media platform designed to facilitate location-based connections, community engagement, and local networking. Launched in 2024, it positions itself as India's first hyperlocal social media app, emphasising interactions within neighborhoods, cities, districts, and villages rather than global or distant audiences.

History[edit | edit source]

Nyburs was developed by Navin Sharma (founder and CEO) and Vishal Chaudhary (co-founder), with the company based in Bangalore, Karnataka. The app became available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, achieving over 100,000 downloads.

Features[edit | edit source]

Nyburs combines elements of social networking, messaging, and content sharing with a strong emphasis on hyperlocality:

  • Location-based networking: Users engage with content and people in their immediate area (e.g. neighborhood, city, or district) or switch localities to explore trends elsewhere in India.
  • Circles, Groups, and Channels: Interest-based local discussion groups, city/district communities, and content channels.
  • Multilingual support: Chat and content in 12+ Indian regional languages.
  • Content and discovery: Posts, short videos (Shorts), stories, live streaming, local events, news, businesses, and opportunities (e.g., jobs, gigs).
