Nikhil Vijay is an actor and writer who is known for his performances in web series such as United Kacche, Gullak, The Aam Aadmi Family, and Hostel Daze and he was recognized for his work as a comedy writer on the TVF-produced show Gullak, receiving an award for his contributions.
Personal life[edit]
Nikhil was born in Nagpur, Maharashtra to Vijay Motghare and Tanuja Dhaware Motghare. He attended RPVV Senior Secondary School and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Zoology (Hon) from SGTB Khalsa College and the University of Delhi.[1]
Career[edit]
In the beginning of his career, Nikhil wrote scripts for street plays and earned a modest income of 1200 rupees.[1] He started his career in the entertainment industry as a writer for TVF (The Viral Fever) where he got the opportunity to act in web series.[2][3] Prior to join TVF, he was working in a call center.[1]
Nikhil's first writing credit came in 2019 with the TV show Gullak, for which he received the Best Writer award.[4][5] He started his career as an actor in 2017, with a role in the TV series The Aam Aadmi Family. Since then, he has appeared in several TV shows, mini-series, and videos. In 2018, he voiced over the character of Chotu and Ganpat in TSP's Zeroes. He also appeared in the TV series Weekends as an AC repairman. The same year, he played the role of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Rajinikanth in TVF's Celebrities in College in two episodes.
In 2019, Nikhil played the character of Shantanu Mehra in the TV series ImMATURE[6] and the same year, he was seen in the TV series Hostel Daze, where he played the characters of Jhantoo and Jatin Kishore.[7] He also played a role in the mini-series Roomies in Dreamland as Rituraj, in which he appeared in one episode.[8][9]
In 2021, Nikhil played the role of Rituraj in two mini-series Roomies in Mafialand and Roomies in Scamland.[10] He was also seen in the film Madam Chief Minister as Babloo.[11] In 2022, he played Monesh Vyas/Monu in the TV series NCR Days.[12]
In 2023, he played the role of the Bangladeshi twins Shumpy and Bumpy in the TV series United Kacche.[2]
Controversies[edit]
In 2017, He posted a message on Facebook related to an issue at BHU, which led to a significant amount of trolling and multiple complaints being filed against him on the platform. As a result, his Facebook account was blocked.
