Nandghar is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model in India for child care and women empowerment.[1]The model includes adoption of existing Anganwadi centers by private parties and supports them with modern technology, improved education, sanitation & hygiene support along with resources to deal with food insecurity and nutrition.[2]It is encouraged that an Anganwadi Center is adopted for at least a period of five years.[3]Operations and implementation across Nandghars differ as per the state they are in.[4]Currently, Nandghars are present in Karnataka,[5]Jharkhand[6],Uttar Pradesh,[7] Odisha,[8] Rajasthan, Chatisgarh, Punjab, Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.[9]Nandghar is a partnership between Vedanta and Ministry of Women & Child Development.[10]Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation also entered the partnership later.[11]
