Nagendra Rai is a mafia strongman who is nephew of former Chief Minister of Bihar, Lalu Prasad Yadav.[1][2] He is cousin of Tejashwi Yadav. He is also part-time Bhojpuri singer.[3]

Early life and family background[edit | edit source]

Nagendra Rai is son of Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder brother Mahavir Rai.[4] Rai settled in Patna years ago. Rai bought a plot in Gola Road of Rupaspur in Danapur, and built his house there.

Criminal cases[edit | edit source]

Nagendra Rai was arrested twice between 2005 and 2017. He was chargesheeted in a 2017 case.[5] On 13 March 2023, Nagendra was booked by Danapur (Patna) Police for trying to extort Rs 3 crore from a Patna builder Nitin Kumar.[6]
