Margão Revolt

On 21 Sep 1890 a protest broke out near the Camara Municipal de Salcete (Municipal Council of Salcete) in the Goan city of Margão against allegations of rigged elections made by the Partido Indiano. The protest soon turned violent, and the police were forced to fire at the crowd. Though the revolt lasted for a mere 20 minutes, it led to the deaths of 12 to 23 people (sources vary) and more injuries.
