Marcus Flemmings

Marcus Flemmings is a London-born British screenwriter, director, producer and published author.[2] He is also the founder of the talent agency BAME Agency.[3] His debut feature film as a director as Six Rounds (2017) premiered at the East End film festival.[4]

In Fashion IndustryEdit

Flemmings began his career making short films before founding an agency named TMP in 2008. An agency that was founded to help South Asian talent in the UK attain mainstream attention.[5][6] Having subsequently, been invited to attend the British Fashion Council roundtable meeting in 2009 which focused on bridging the gap between the fashion world and diversity. TMP pushed plenty of models out into the mainstream; Kiran Kandola, Kubra Khan, Kiren Modi[5] In 2011, he began working as a fashion photographer.[2]

In 2016 he folded TMP into BAME Agency.[3] An agency that was created to shine a light on models and actors of all ethnic backgrounds[6] into mainstream fashion, TV and film.[7] He is currently serving as the Managing Director and Head Booker of the company.[5]

BAME Agency have worked with  Vogue, Harpers Baazar, Paris Fashion Week, London Fashion Week.[6] Having provided talent for films such as Spiderman: Far from Home, Hobbs & Shaw and others.

In Film IndustryEdit

Six Rounds, his debut feature film, with Adam J Bernard as lead, was about the 2011 London Riots released in April 2017.[4] Shortly followed by the multi-award-winning Palindrome (2019), originally premiered at the London Independent Film Festival.[8] It was screened at 21 international film festivals[9] and received 13 wins and 9 nominations there.[10] Flemmings also scored a scene in the film called Nurse Jeanette's song.[2]

Blonde. Purple (2021) is his latest feature as a solo director, acquired by 1091 Pictures (formerly known as Orchard Entertainment) for release in the US, UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.[11] It is a heist film, with the star cast of Julian Moore-Cook and Jess Radomska, released on November 30, 2021.[11][7] BLONDE. Purple was officially selected as part of the Pan African Film Festival 2022.

Having written, directed, produced short, feature and fashion films. He is also the writer of cult novel, Sexy Utopia.[12] His first novel Sexy Utopia was greeted to critical acclaim, released in 2005 worldwide.[13] Since then, London-born Flemmings, has written various screenplays and 2 more mini-Novels.[14]
